The energy crisis was rigged. There may have been some shortages in certain places but as a whole it was phony because as we found out from Enron's schemes they intentionally created phony shortages and phony trades, driving up the prices. since all forms of energy zoomed up in price at the same time it had to have been a amssive collusion between all the big energy players: oil-NG-electric power at the same time. That would mean the Saudis had to cooperate. And why not? Bush-Cheney were on very close terms with them. Bush Sr. liberated Kuwait and saved the Saudis from Saddam. There was a big debt to be paid. meanwhile El paso NG which supplies California raized NG prices 500% and later admitted fraud. One of their key execs committed suicide rather than face the music. An Enron executive also committed suicide. Enron and other companied shredded doccuments like there was no tomorrow. Cheney still refuses to show anyone his energy papers from that period despite court orders. The whole thing stinks of a massive fraud, ripoff and cover up. Notice too that they did succeed in getting rid of Grey Davis, one of their principal schemes. Enron spent millions with Ed Gillespie blaming the energy crisis on Davis, who was actually the victim. What a scam. Never again though, never again.
