Unfortunately, Lyn Nofziger is neither a friend nor an acquaintance. I have always found him stimulating and a man who does not hesitate to express what he feels, consequences be damned. His appearances on C-Span's Washington Journal, with his tie pulled halfway down his neck, were always enjoyable. I have not seen him on television for several years now. It is my understanding that he has some health problems. He does have a blog.lynnofziger.com Given his fierce loyalty to Reagan, Nofziger has always had a love-hate relationship with the Bush family. It always amuses me when American Spirit talks about how Nofziger is anti-Bush. He obviously has not been following his recent comments:March 12, 2004--The most noticeable feature of John Kerry is his long face. But if you think it’s long now, just wait until Nov. 3. ------------ John Kerry was born with a long face. Now that, of course, is no disgrace, But it’ll get longer If Bush runs stronger In this year’s presidential race. <snip> March 11, 2004--John Kerry asserts that Republicans are the most crooked lying groups he’s ever seen. Obviously the man does not own a mirror. <snip> There is no doubt that Kerry is vulnerable. His record of wartime valor should not be enough to protect him from his civilian record during the last days of the Vietnam war in which he joined with Jane Fonda to slander his country and those who fought for it. It certainly is not enough to overcome his votes against providing for an adequate defense establishment and an adequate intelligence operation. It is not enough to counter his voting record which has been established as the most liberal in the Senate. In other words, there is plenty there for Bush to attack. And attack he must. To do less would be to give Kerry a free ride in the areas where he is most vulnerable. To do less could well cost Bush the election. <snip>
