To combat terrorism, we must

1. Know the reasons and cause of terrorism.
2. We must know who the terrorists are.
3. We must know their military capabilities.

1. Many view themselves as freedom fighters.
2. People that feel they are unjustly oppressed.
3. Limited from a strictly military point of view.

If the government is successfull in deceiving its own people, the next thing and which is frightening is it will encroach into their civil rights and personal freedom under the excuse of security and oppress all opposition by all means, even by changing the constitution!

Agree, must be vigilant against modern McCarthy-ism; and the fear of there being a terrorist around every corner. The threat is real but we must remain focused IMO.

The most dangerous is to sacrifice the children of your own country under false pretenses, and pre-empt an unnecessary war ! There is evidence that the Iraq invasion was in the Bush Agenda even if 9/11 had not occurred.

Go into a closed room with any of the leaders of the countries that border Iraq and ask them if they are pleased and relieved that he is gone. They will all secretly say they are very glad he is gone. Including Syria and Iran IMO.
