I have not suggested anyone should not attempt to prevent law breaking. I have suggested the solutions you mentioned would spend billions and billions and accomplish nothing.

And you can spend billions putting illegals in jail and it will not stop the flow by any significant amount.

Put someone in jail for twenty years for wanting to live in America. Vicious and stupid.
