I agree. I too noticed how those folks participated. I think that this time in the US we will have a larger participation if we go by the voter turnout in the Democratic primaries.

Our low participation rate is a national disgrace. A subject we need to discuss more.

Actually, our participation rate is too high, given the quality of research the average voter engages in. Probably 80+% of Americans vote purely on party. Those voters don't contribute anything to a functioning democratic republic.
