Appreciate it mad! I see news on DAOU .72 (a cheapie I have) today: Daou Awarded Contract to Extend the Legacy System at Ingalls Memorial Hospital Monday March 15, 8:05 am ET New Web Services to Positively Impact Patient Care
EXTON, Pa., March 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Daou Systems, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: DAOU - News), a provider of IT consulting and management services to healthcare organizations, today announced an agreement with Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, Ill. to deploy a R.A.P.I.D.(TM) Web Services portal solution that will enable the health system's physician community to access patient information from any secure Internet connection. The solution will initially integrate with five key clinical and administrative application systems now in operation at Ingalls. ADVERTISEMENT "In an economy where the healthcare industry is struggling, hospitals and healthcare organizations are looking for ways to keep up with emerging technologies while maintaining slim budgets," said Daniel J. Malcolm, Daou's president and CEO. "Implementing web-based solutions will enable organizations such as Ingalls to extend the useful life of their legacy systems at a lower cost and shorter timeframe than replacing these systems, while providing enhanced information services to clinicians through contemporary web applications."
Daou's Advanced Technologies Group will use Park City Solutions' emPOWERnet(TM) as the technology platform to provide a physician portal with integration to several of Ingalls' clinical and financial systems including: IntraNexus Allegra, Eclipsys TDS7000, SoftMed, SoftLab and DR Systems PACS. With the Daou web solution framework, Ingalls can choose from many of its previously deployed healthcare-specific applications, integrate external web applications, as well as create new workflow solutions to meet current and future requirements.
"We conducted a diligent search to find the right partner to implement an online physician portal solution, and we are confident in choosing Daou as our partner," said David Hillenmeyer, Director, I/T of Ingalls Memorial. "In addition to a sound technology solution, Daou brings a solid track record of successful implementations aligned with significant expertise in application workflow, systems integration and network infrastructure."
Providing physicians with online web access to patient demographic and clinical data is a key strategy for improving patient care and extending the physician referral base in Chicago's South Suburbs. The portal will enhance the outreach services that Ingalls currently provides to community physicians, enabling timely access to clinical laboratory data. Additionally, the ability to utilize appropriate content binding and personalization features will help their physician community to positively impact patient care.
