The impact of a weaker dollar on SanDisk is probably a net positive because of the large sales to Japan and Europe, resulting in a foreign exchange translation gain. Also, any royalty payments from yen or euro countries would tend to be higher.

In general, if a domestic company has a large export business, or simply does a lot of business overseas, including manufacturing overseas, there will be foreign exchange translation gains even if sales volume is flat. Recent examples worth noting are companies like Coca Cola and Caterpillar.
