Need more info on Excel problem. Book 1 is the default file name that Excel gives a file if you do not give it a different name. Did you save it under a file name?
If you have excel open, and click on file, it will show you the last 4 files that were opened. could you have saved it under another name, then saved a file as book 1?
you also could go to my computer, my documents, and list the files that were most recently opened. It sounds like you make have saved it under a different name, but you think that book 1 is the current file. another possibility is that the data is in a different tab in book 1 - tabs are sheets within a file that are listed in the bottom of the excel page. check sheet 1 or sheet 2 etc to see if the data is there. good luck. post more info to get more help larry

Sounds as if you might have renamed the file inadvertently..and your Excel program can't find it... try this. Run>find>files/folders *.xls ....see if there is a file you don't recognize and thats probably it
