If 90% were oppossed to the war, is it really a surprise that they voted for a candidate who promised to end their involvment in the war? That's certainly not cavin to terrorists when 90% oppossed the war well before the terrorist attacks. If the attacks had swayed public opinion the case could be made that the people were caving to terrorists. I find your logic faulty.

Iraq had very little to do with terrorism. That is the big lie of the Bushies, that Iraq was the "war on terror". It wasn't. It was a strageic neocon idea which they were planning since before 2000. However, since we invaded we created a terrorist situation. While there are some positive aspects to getting rid of Saddam Iraq remains a place where security is wishful thinking. Expect a lot more bloodshed, and let's just pray for no Beirut style attacks on US barracks.
