No, they come in for very thorough inspections. It is not lighweight by any means. Fines are heavy. It has made a difference how people are safer today than they were two years ago. It is far safer to mine today than farm, yet no inspections in ag...go figure.

I'll take your word for it regarding the increased mine safety inspections. Do you work in the industry? Re: farms being less safe, there are certainly plenty of examples of those sorts of ironies in our society. How about the fact that alcohol and tabacco kill 100,000s per year (not to mention perscription drugs) and marjuana kills hardly anyone (unless you're so stoned that you drive straight into a tree). Yet, for some strange reason it is MJ that is illegal?!? Go figure on that one. Probably has more to do with the fact that MJ would kill the profits of the alcohol and tabacco companies than any concern for public health (as if tabacco and alcohol are healthy substances).
