Interesting chart:

RYVNX is dynamite when things turn down. Also dynamite when things turn up, except it's blowing up under you. But I think it's going to make some money for me.

Well, there was actually a small net outflow from mutual funds last week.

I am really tired of these bubbles. From my point of view it's been going on for close to ten years.

But I guess I am ready for the commodities bubble. Do you know this link? Look! Commodities up about 12% so far this year. This is the index that PCRDX tries to replicate.

Incidentally, partly because of your reaction when I told you that parts of my house were falling off, I had the top-of-the-line custom rebuilding job done and also put in a brand new steam boiler. My wife is a lot happier now and says she is proud of the house instead of being ashamed.

The flat roofs are all sheathed in copper now (they were totally demolished by the contractor and rebuilt to replicate the original 1923 design); the main tile roof was lifted off and put back down; there was an extremely fancy paint job; many other custom details. In the end I spent about $145,000. All the neighbors are happy. It probably raised property values all down the block. I have new shiny copper gutters and downspouts (a $6,600 item).

And I think I have shed my reputation as a miser.

I'm not kidding, you were one of the important influences on me to let this happen!

Happily my investments are such that I'm not much damaged by all this expense.
