But he can never get any mass support, for that program, in the Muslim world. So quit being frightened of that imaginary monster in the closet, and quit trying to scare others.

I'm trying to help you understand, and to understand myself, the reasons for the Spanish terror, Jacob. I find the Iraq explanation facile, especially since there are lots of other US supporters who have not been the recipients of terror. Conversely, there have been critics of the Iraq war that have been terrorized, too. Frankly, I think that the Iraq war is not that big a deal to the insano-Islamists. Thus, the pertinent question to me is: what is so special about Spain?

I thought that the articles I listed would help you understand the Spanish connection, to put it in a historical context. I have evidently failed.

And, by the way, the complete lack of mass support for terrorism is utterly irrelevant to the discussion. I fail to see the logical thread between the lack of mass support for terrorism and the historical antecedents for what occurred in Spain. Terrorism is secretive; it does not rely on mass support. You haven't advanced the discussion by citing the obvious.

I also think that OBL's plans to re-establish the Caliphate are totally insane. But he and his insano-Islamist cohorts are using terrorism to further their stupid fantasies, which makes them utterly relevant in this day and age of WMD. Terrorists and what drives them have to be understood in order to deal with them.

After that, her enemies will have nukes and use them.

Sounds like it's all or nothing for them, eh?

Maybe there is something that should be learned here....maybe the right way is to deal with the problem before it becomes a BIG problem for the entire world.
