Steve - I hope not - I think Syria has been exposed and there will be no going back. Even with Kerry, there will be a residual presence in Iraq.

I think the real issue and the real threat is Saudi Arabia. In my mind, this was the real reason for OBL 9/11. He believes that w/o the US (Bush connections in particular) that he and his ilk would rule Saudi Arabia and that the "infidels" are soiling his precious home.

The Bush administration has made some progress but has still protected this hot bed of terrorist support. (See, e.g., redacted Senate report on 9/11 which protected SA) Kerry may be more likely to put pressure on the Saudis to clean up their act, starting with the teaching of hatred of all things "infidel" in their schools and culminating with the elimination of financial support for terror, particularly SA support for the terror organizations fighting Israel.

I'm fairly undecided for a number of reasons and I'm not crazy about Kerry but I do think that the Saudis won't be happy and the Syrians won't be happy in the future.
