Re: I didn't know the natural gas shortage was potentially so serious. I don't think I'm being too alarmist. Last summer, Alan Greenspan took the unprecedented step of bringing up the dire gas situation in a Congressional hearing. No central banker had ever done so before. Of the market observers I know of, only a few loyal Bushistas in the DoE seem to discounting the possibilities of some wrenching market dislocations and wild price speculations in the next couple of winters.
