I listened to some man-in-the-street interviews from Spain. The general theme was that Aznar had credibility problems for a long time including many of the same WMD statements that plague Bush and Blair. The people seemed more outraged that Aznar was deflecting responsibility for the blasts to the basques and apparently hiding evidence of Al Qaeda. He was tossed because he was not honest, not for any specific policy. Dishonesty and coverups will get 'em every time.
