Europeans considered all of us warmongers before 9/11, they would have returned to their habitual appeasement mode whether or not we went into Iraq. They resent whichever country is most powerful at the moment. It's more important to be respected by other nations, than it is to be loved. Those less powerful European nations can afford the luxury of idealistic pacifist attitudes, since they don't have the ultimate responsibility of stamping out terrorism. They're unrealistic--terrorism won't just fade away, it must be confronted & irradicated. Iraq as a flegling new democracy in Mid-east will take the world a giant step closer to that goal.
