ADX = Average directional index

taxopedia.com

equis.com

The ADX value attempts to quantify the strength of the prevailing directional trend. In the case of the following Nasdaq example, ADX is turning upward from a relative low point and is now rising at 21.7, i.e. it is gathering momentum. This infers that the current trend (in this case downward) can be expected to continue in the near term and potentially for a considerable period of time afterward
