Clapper,

<And we got fuggers putting tomatoes in the ground over there on the left side of the country.>

Yur right but.....when you trade off earth quakes, forest fires, mudslides ....I can pass on the early tomato planting! And besides, don't you like the dreary overcast weather of March?? When the sun finally comes out and things warm up it's such a huge deal! <NG>

heeheehee.

This is a big gamble. I usually didn't plant toms in the bay area until tomorrow. This is a month early for me.

I've got a few tricks; cover with plastic, water jugs for solar heaters, and, when things got bad while I was farming, I had a polypeptide polymer spray which went on the trees; gives frost protection down to about 28 degrees. I'm not gonna do it in the garden, but you can push it a bit.

However, next month, it could get down to 18 degrees; I've seen it in late April.

Snowman,

The first snowfall of the season is fun, but I hated late winter in Wisconsin. We always had one more BIG one in May-April. Spring could not come soon enough.

Here, summer has already poked it's head out. Low to mid 80s. We'll surely get another cold spell, it's just a tease.

I like being teased.<g>

Besides, I've got only a couple more weeks to reach my weight goal, and I need the good weather to help me get in the mood. I'm way behind.......

I went diving for my anchor and chain yesterday. I had to drop it and leave it on Sunday afternoon, because it had wrapped around a big log at about 24 feet, and i didn't have my dive gear onboard.

...About a thousand bucks worth of chain and anchor.......I didn't like leaving it behind. <g>

I didn't have to search for it though. We got lucky when we tossed out our stern anchor to hold us while i dove for the main one. We were dragging a bit and when i pulled up the stern anchor to reset, it had caught the main's chain.

He he....just had to dive down and untangle the chain.

:o)

hey you-

anyone that gets to spend a week in new mexico
doing all the fun things you guys got to do shouldn't
complain about a "little snow" <vbg>.

i might be headed out to port republic, new jersey
next july or august for a family reunion.

where is that in proximity to you and altie i wonder.
i mean, could i take a side trip and meet up with the
two of you somewhere in the middle. it might tip the
balance of whether to attend the reunion or not <g>

also dealie, my cousin who is helping to arrange
this massive undertaking lives in greensboro alabama.
where is that to you? - not that i'm going there or
anything ... just wondering.

geeze - i guess i should just get an atlas out and
look these things up for my own self.
