With technology like nano and an increasingly profound understanding of how to manipulate matter, in a few generations we will be able to make in any quantity any product we can think of. All economics from Marx to Freedman has as its fundamental premise, scarcity. It seems we are able to see the dim outlines of a world without scarcity. I wonder if we are starting to see just the very beginnings of a new economics, REALLY new. So new we don't have the tools to understand it or deal with it.
