I am not an analyst for a brokerage firm. If I was, I would track the stocks that I follow VERY closely. When a company releases material news-the type that can send a stock down 40% in a few days, I would not wait a few days before reacting! We're not talking about "Mom's ABC company", we are talking about NT - one of the dominant players in the telecom space.

Based on the uncertainty principle, it would make sense to immediately downgrade a stock (within a few hours or 1 day), assuming you have a bullish recommendation.

How did these companies come up with stock price targets if they don't know how much the restatement is going to be? Let me answer this for you. Yes, I think they waited to see how the market reacted and then they readjusted their targets. One dropped from $10 to 6. AMAZING. Exactly a 40% difference!
