That makes sense and I heard several comments that suggest this may well be true.

On an earlier trip down to Miami (mid Feb), I paid $1.30 to $1.60 for Diesel fuel (and I try to freqent the big truck stops for obvious reasons). On this recent trip west, I paid $1.55 to $2.01 per gallon for diesel fuel. Prices have really jumped during this past month. The west coast provided (as one might expect) the highest prices.

Incidentally, the year-over-year fuel price increases are quite significant, but of course we have very little inflation
