Kerry would indeed do some of the same things GW is doing with regard to national security, which is why it's so absurd Bushies are trying to paint him as weak on defense. JK would also stick up for soldiers and vets more, instead of huge defense contracts for cronies which was GW's first priority as he entered office. Remember SDI?

One thing JK wouldn't do however is needlessly rush into a massive expensive war without thorough preparations and a real coalition, unless it were a REAL imminent threat of course. JK would also not dis-engage in Israel and North Korea and would put a big emphasis on diplomacy. Powell does a pretyty good job but the neocons undercut him in so many ways. JK would also not hype and fabricate the way the neocons have in Iraq and Libya.
