Champion Bear, Condor. I had it optioned to them along with a couple of cobalt showings in the next township to the west in which I was a partner in the claims. They were supposed to make the lease payments and did not, and as they were the address of record, (I was in Africa at the time)I was unaware of the non-payment and the lease was cancelled. I am not that enamored with the economics of the property, but it had sentimental value. It had been in the family for a long, long time. A prospector friend of mine from Sudbury picked it up by staking. The cobalt claims are still in good standing. To their credit, Champion Bear was one of the first to recognize the concentric fractures around the Sudbury basin and beat Inco and Falco to the draw in terms of land acquisition. Re: $6 nickel. We have both been the victims and beneficaries of the ups and downs of the nickel market. Enjoy it while it lasts and hopefully this one is long-lasting.
