Fantastic, Jane! You get the prize for post #1!

I've been to that spot in Seaside too. As a matter of fact, I've spent the better part of my life on the Lewis and Clark trail from Ross's Hole in Montana, down to Traveller's Rest, up to Packer's Meadow on the divide, down to Colt Killed Creek where they were forced to eat one of their horses, all along the Lolo trail, down the Clearwater to Lewiston, down the Columbia to Clatsop, and on to the Salt-making site at Seaside.

I've walked most of the Lolo Trail at one time or another. I swear, at times I could almost hear the clatter of their horses' hooves.

I hope to get a little action on this board by letting it be known on others that I participate in. I hope you'll continue to post with your experiences and thoughts.
