This is the second time you have mentioned these "international agreements", I don't know if you are trying to imply some sort of super significance of these treaties, or what.

I suggest we send some competant negotiators to China, tell them the US requires a floated Yuan, adherance to labor standards (these rules exist in the treaties but China *routinely* violates them), IP protection, and in the case of India and China open markets and no more tariffs. Treaty or no, China either adheres to US demands or we tariff their products. Simple as that. We are running a trade deficit of over 100 billion per year with China. This is serious and needs to be dealt with, if it can't be negotiated, we need to protect our nation first. This is just obvious to anybody but the Bush economic team.
