We've already had a trade war, over bras. Remember that? And Bush has tariffed steel. Niether of these resulting in the US being sued by the WTO, although the poor planning by the Bush administration resulted in a number of angry US vendors.

Its hard to say what the WTO would do with this undervalued Yuan situation. But to just sit there and lose your entire manufacturing base over an obviously obsolete treaty is pretty stupid, particularly when all of the world is relying on US buying power. We are in the drivers seat, not China or the WTO. I think the rust belt states are sick of these BushCo excuses and want action. We'll see what the results are in November.

I want the Yuan floated. <- is that clear? If this violates "international law" then whoopie doo. The chinese violate "international law" all the time. And nobody gives a hoot.

Does WTO prohibit California State Tax Franchise Board from collecting their dues in taxes from entities in China that have stolen California intellectual property?

Maybe our tax officials will have more guts than our so-called govt leaders, who look the other way when USA intellectual property is stolen right and left. There are 600 cases of IP theft per year by Chinese citizens, stolen from West Coast companies alone.

It's completely beyond the pale that China doesn't even have the grace to admit the out-of-control IP theft problems they have over there. If they simply admitted it, as a first step, a lot of goodwill would be created.

But they hide the IP theft problem, just like they hid SARS. I'm a hardcore Democrat and it is absolutely not appropriate to allow this to continue. So, to be perfectly clear, do you want China to keep violating international law, or not?
