Clinton's speeches (or at least the one I've heard, which is not all of them) on the subject have seemed out of step with the Democratic establishment. I think the Clintons believe deep down that come November the anti war rhetoric is not going to play in Kenosha and Dayton, where they need to do well to win (assuming the South stays in the GOP fold). The economy may tank enough for Kerry to win anyway, but if it doesn't tank then Bush's chances will be pretty good. The Clintons are looking at a remodeled, moderate, hawkish Hillary candidacy in 2008.
