Well, now that we both feel like barfing, I'm sure it was at least 1/2 a pound a night.

No, I did not control cholesterol solely by diet. I also had an array of doctor recommended supplements like a 1000 mg of niacin and a wonderful bee's wax derivative called Chlorarest, (it worked great at improving my numbers) which I recently replaced with a statin, because Lipitor not only lowers cholesterol but reduces heart attacks.

The diet for the rest of my life is in Eat, Drink, and Be Healthy: The Harvard Medical School Guide to Healthy Eating, by Walter Willett, MD and can be found in most bookstores.
