Thanks, I am glad to go beyond the sterility of accusation and imprecation with Jacob.

Yes, it is very difficult to deal with a situation where so little of civil society was permitted to flourish under the old regime. That is why the exile community had too much influence, the supposition that they were the most viable opponents of the regime. The problem is that they cannot just assume a place without the confidence of those who stayed behind.
