He is part of the Senate that insists on cramming 50 separate issues into one bill. It's a terrible practice. Terrible for transparency, terrible for accountability, terrible for ensuring a never ending spiral of increased spending and intrusions into the country's life. He's part of the problem so if he gets hurt because of it, too damn bad.

He didn't cast his vote against body armor but against the conditions of the aid package that was part of the same bill. But he's still getting clobbered for voting against body armor because that's the net effect of his action so that's how it's being perceived. No one cares what his intentions were.
