Lest we forget. The toll ever rises.

U.S. Soldier Killed, Seven Wounded Near Baghdad

A U.S. soldier was killed and seven were wounded in a mortar attack at a logistics base north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, the U.S. Army said Thursday.
Four of the injured soldiers were returned to duty within hours after the attack in Balad, about 45 miles north of Baghdad, the Army said in a statement. The other three wounded soldiers were evacuated to a combat support hospital.

The death brings to 390 the number of U.S. soldiers killed in action since the start of the U.S.-led war in Iraq almost a year ago.
