Very true, Karen. We have to watch what others DO, not the color of their skin.

Perhaps people will be more on the lookout for folks who wear skimasks and drop/leave backpacks, or other packages, and then leave the area. Or who have wires on their shoes. Or who drive a rickedy old car into the middle of an area, and stop......

"I assume that the kabob joints that are open on Christmas are run by Muslims and those that aren't are run by Christians"

Be careful of even those assumptions. In PA, you can eat in an Amish restaurant where the owner's real speciality is souvlaki. I knew of an emigree waiter in one of these. Because of the costume and his beard and mustache many a tourist believed his shtick. They returned home with stories about a lost Eyetalian branch of Amish farmers.
