I like to make my salads in a similar way too. I usually grow a few kinds of lettuces in the garden and use the greens while they're small. I often add some grapes and walnuts, and then make a warm oil dressing with walnut or grapeseed oil and add fresh chevre. Very nice!

Btw, there's a recipe for 'Chez Panisse Baked Goat Cheese with Garden Salad' in the book 'Chevre: The Goat Cheese Cookbook' by Laura Chenel and Linda Siegfried. Lots of other good recipes in it as well. Not sure how available the book is anymore though as it was published in 1983.
