No, I don't think that Afghanistan ignited the same spark as Iraq. Life is not black and white. The Afghanistan action was seen by many as an appropriate response to the attack of 9/11. Some, not all, used that action to inflame anti-American sentiment but there were many among the Muslim world who reserved judgement and who understood the concepts of revenge and self defense. Neither of those concepts justified the Iraqi invasion or occupation.

Look at the number of people in this country who cannot justify our invasion of Iraq. Look at the majority of Europeans who cannot justify the invasion of Iraq. Then think about whether there are valid reasons why the Muslim/Arab world is incited to rage about our actions there. You can't just write them off as "animals" and feel righteously empowered.
