"If one thought the adventurism in Iraq a misstep in
the war on terror"

adventurism - improvisation or experimentation (as in
politics or military or foreign affairs) in the absence or
in defiance of accepted plans or principles

I guess one would have to pretend that the Gulf War Cease
fire Agreement & the decades long violation of it & 17
additional UN Resolutions had nothing to do with removing
Saddam's evil regime. A regime that clearly had no
intention of ever complying, while many tens of thousands
of Iraqi's were raped, tortured & slaughtered year after
year & bribes from Saddam went to France, Russia, China,
ET AL., to keep him in power.

I guess that Saddam's clear, irrefutable ties to terrorism
had absolutely nothing to do with Saddam's removal in the
shadows of 9/11 either.

Those folks who saw Saddam's removal as "adventurism"
should really be taken seriously I guess.
