I also believe people should understand who they are voting for and why. Unfortunately, I think many do not; nonetheless, our system allows even the uninformed and illiterate to vote, and I think that is the only correct decision (despite the fact that it might help Republicans win elections <g>).

Apparently it grates on your sensibilities, but I think even old people who slobber should be encouraged to vote.
