I don't dispute that. But I am using that as one of the indicators on his diminished support overall. This is how I see it...

Election in 2000 we saw a 50/50 nation. So Bush has to increase his support base and make sure that people who voted to him last time still vote for him. However I do see many who had voted in the past unwilling to vote for him. Best case scenario for Bush, they sit at home.

Further, many in National Guard and Reservers are pissed off at him. All such people and their families are definitely going to vote against him. They most likely voted for him in y2k election. That is another layer of erosion.

Many military families are no longer gung ho about the war. The men and women in uniform might support Bush but the families will definitely vote against him.

Many youngsters, new to voting process will not turn out for Bush in same numbers as they did last election.

Now you tell me where is the additional support he is going to gain from ? -- From all the families that got Tax Cuts -- LOL how many new votes for him :)

Kerry will have to be super doofus to lose this. (Not that I doubt his abilities to be a doofus)
