That one turned out to be a bit of a bubble didn't it?

What i think is clear is that our potential growth has been going down as our economy matures, as have the wild swings.

But i also credit all the government reforms, regulations, agencies, and social programs instituted after our depressions for making our economy more stable, less volatile.

Where do you get your pre-1930 numbers? The BEA only goes back to 1930 as far as i can tell.
