yes,

" He contended that the Democrats that Specter is courting now will just vote for the Democratic senatorial candidate, Rep. Joseph M. Hoeffel, in the general election anyway. "Sen. Specter has had some very tough re-elections in the past because he thinks he can rely on the liberals.""

Hoeffel was on the local 1210 talk radio the other morning. Of course Hoeffel would like toomey to run against. Hoeffel thinks he can beat toomey but not Spector. He didn't say as much just laughed when told he would prefer to run against toomey vs Spector and Hoeffel starting laughing. like you bet i would.

Specter only gets elected because of his liberal vote. i doubt a strong conservative Republican can get elected as Phily and Pittsburgh carry a large block and now a lot of the suburbs are moving to liberal votes.
Now for Rendall to get re-elected i don't know a few years away. but one thing he ran on he has not produced ,,,, to reduce property taxes with slot machines at the race tracks. He has already increase state income tax bye .4/5%
Rendall is in his glory as a swing state this puts him back into national coverage. Already been on Chris Matthews show and a few others. I expect he will be key in trying to bring Pa voters to kerry. I think Rendall if offered a place on Kerry staff would jump at the chance. Just my opinion. He loves the attention, great personality, does a local sports talk show on cable although never watched it.
