One of the best lines from Rumsfeld (from a Sept 2002 interview on the DOD website):
The goal is to learn information and to have them disarm themselves of their weapons of mass destruction capabilities. There's no debate in the world as to whether they have those weapons. There's no debate in the world as to whether they're continuing to develop and acquire them. There's no debate in the world as to whether or not he's used them. There's no debate in the world as to whether or not he's consistently threatening his neighbors with them. We all know that. A trained ape knows that. All you have to do is read the newspaper.

Here we have not only sleazy lies couched in colorful chest-thumping rhetoric, but a nice example of how the administration was using the product of Chalabi Inc. to feed to the media. Publication is then cited as further "evidence." M2

Nothing "wildly wrong" about either at the time....Saddam had been MIA for a while....and the US had made several attempts to directly take him off the stage.......all your clucking about propaganda does not change those facts....nor does it man anyone, including me, was "snookered"....

That's the trouble with you pinheads....your extremism and Bush hating moronism always goes too far....
