I feel the products that Fortune Brands sells are finished goods. They said two things: "are trying to pass these costs on", and then imply business is good. I realize there is alot of prevarication out there, but it's safe to assume that this inflation shock is being dealt with in a variety of ways, all bad. This illustrates you can't just pick and choose inflation, and pretend it doesn't exist because somebody in the chain doesn't land on Boardwalk and four houses, this time around the board, especially when next time around there is a hotel on Boardwalk, and three houses on Marvin Gardens.:

1. Successful pass throughs 2. Absorbing all or part 3. Making suppliers eat it, especially where long term contracts are involved. Of course that insures that the suppliers won't be in business to supply you later. Then what?
