"If a person is NOT a liberal in their youth, they have no heart. If a person is STILL a liberal after 40yrs old....they have no head".

Now there is a fill in the blanks as follows:

"If a person is a conservative in their youth, they..... If a person is still a conservative after 40 years old then they are ......"

It's frustrating that domestic agenda must be swept under the national rug in deference to a more crucial issue, War on Terror, but that's the reality of Election 2004.

POlitics is hitting someone at its his strongest point. We all know that Bush and his cronies are going to play up his trump card which is he being the leader of the war on terror. So we need to engage him on that issue first. What leader, is what we ask. What about Spain, now Poland etc. Like a desperate man who is drowning, Bush will come back and start to insult the people of Spain, the leaders of countries which move away. That will cause others to follow suit, a snowball effect. And then finally, go after issues on which he has no record, the economy. So yes, I agree with your lament. We just have to wait and be patient.

Dean was on Hannity and Colmes yesterday. It is still the vintage Dean on economic issues. Fiesty as ever which is a good thing. And like Dean, I have still maintained that he should be on the ticket if Sen. McCain declines.

All that talk about two liberal New Englanders being on the ticket is balloney. In a ABB situation which is also catching fire across the nations of the world who are and were US allies, these things will not matter. When Kerry moves into the White House, the terrorists will be booked with the help of the world community and he will also be successful with the "US economy" not just Iraq's economy and the economies of India and China. A true globalization wherein the economies of other nations will get an uplift while at the same time the US economy maintaining its upward climb.

"If a person is NOT a liberal in their youth, they have no heart. If a person is STILL a liberal after 40yrs old....they have no head".

Gee...sounds like one day you woke up and said..."I'm a republican". Must have been a scary day for you! <g>

But let me say that I disagree with your statement above. Because one needs to have a head and a heart. The war on terror was morphed into a war in Iraq. 90% of Americans supported the actions in Afghanistan against Al Qaeda, after all they attacked us.

But Bush used that support against Al Qaeda to turn the war into Iraq. Somehow he was able to convince 7 out of 10 people that Saddam was responsible for 9-11.

If you say that you are using your head, you have to be able to see that manipulation. And if you have a head you can see that support for Bush and the war in Iraq has slipped every day. The lie is being exposed, one heart at a time.

We need to unite on the war on terror. Our resources are best spent against the actual heart of terror, Al Qaeda.

And we must gather the entire world together in this cause, or we are doomed to failure, and the terrorists will take advantage of these cracks in out armor.

One needs a head...and a heart. One without the other leads to pure madness.

Orca

You're no moderate, you're a Bushie who tried to BS these threads posing as a Deaniac then an Edwardian. Edwards would despise someone like you using his name to spread trash and propaganda about JK. You haven't made one true statement about Kerry since you started you sneaky little crusade.

"Conservative by the time you're 35"

"If you're not a liberal when you're 25, you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 35, you have no brain." There is no record of anyone hearing Churchill say this. Paul Addison of Edinburgh University makes this comment: "Surely Churchill can't have used the words attributed to him. He'd been a Conservative at 15 and a Liberal at 35! and would he have talked so disrespectfully of Clemmie, who is generally thought to have been a lifelong Liberal.
