BTW, my impression is that on several occasions recently SUNW has been reasonably firm in the a.m., roughly flat through mid-day, and then there seems to be a concerted effort to drive it down late in the day (starting about 3:00 Eastern). It almost smacks of manipulation.

I wonder whether it could have anything to do with options expiration today.

C'mon Charles, the S&P is only down around 20% since Bush took office, and he's been on vacation a lot of that time.

As for weak closes, that's been true of the market in general lately, sign of a weak market.
