The BtB is a rather poor parameter to show how the NA semi-equip sector is doing. The most important parameter is the Bookings number. Rising Bookings numbers are good and show the health of the industry going forward.

The following is a "mini" table that shows the steady improvement in Bookings since the low point of 707M set last July. The second column shows the change in Bookings on a monthly basis, and the third column shows the percent of the monthly change. For reference, the fourth column shows the BtB number for that month.

Note that Oct and Dec were both big months for Bookings increase, but the other months show a constantly increasing Bookings in the range of 4 to 6 percent for each month including the last month with data - February. In just 8 months, Bookings have increased from 707 to 1306 - an increase of 599, or 85 percent. As these numbers show, and Gottfried's charts show, the monthly increase in Bookings is "alive and well", and so far, does not show signs of faltering.
