Bush campaign goods made overseas
WASHINGTON, March 19 (UPI) -- The official merchandising Web site of the Bush campaign is selling clothing made in Myanmar, a country whose goods are banned for sale in the United States.

According to a report in New York Newsday, a Web site run by the Spalding Group and licensed by Bush-Cheney campaign is selling a $49.95 fleece pullover embroidered with the Bush-Cheney '04 logo that is made in the country.

Myanmar, formerly Burma, is run by a repressive, dictatorial military regime.

Bush enacted a law banning the sale of its products in July.

Also included in an order made from www.georgewbushstore.com by the paper was a shirt made in Mexico and a hat without an indication of where it was produced.

The findings could be important because the issue of job outsourcing has become a major campaign topic of Democrats.

The merchandising Web site says the Bush campaign receives no money from sale of the goods, however the Bush campaign Web site contains several prominent links to the site in question.

Ted Jackson, president of the company told Newsday that the goods were provided by mistake by his company's supplier.
