Hitler was elected. Simple point: People can vote for politicians who end up doing wrong or evil things. Hitler was "evil". Bush/Cheney are more simply self-serving politicians pursuing global military conquests at the expense of others. There are similarities between Hitler and Bush/Cheney -- particularly in the call to national pride and manipulation of the truth to create fear, hatred and to drum up support for military conquest. But that was not my point in reference to Hitler -- just wanted to point out that elections do not ensure that bad people will gain power and make bad decisions.
