I am confidant that HAL and other US contractors are doing their best to manage the Iraqi and US money being spent for Iraq. That any money being mismanaged is insignificant compared the UN sponsored pilfering of the Iraqi oil money that kept the French, Russian, Turk and other countries on Saddam's side.

Is it any wonder that Saddam wanted to remain vague and keep the UN Weapons Inspectors guessing as long as he could?

...And considering the protection money he was passing out on the Security Council, can you blame him for believing that august body would keep the US in check?

As best I can tell he only made two mistakes:

1. Not hiring Arthur Anderson to show him how to launder it and get it out of the country; and

2. Being so greedy that he just couldn't bring himself to abdicate and skidaddle in that last 48 hours.

Heck... he could be kickin' back in Moscow researching the Joe Stalin Memorial Papers right now. ...Or possibly catching a little slope time in his new Canadian Rockies retreat.
