Re: "I don't see how the UN can protect anybody." The UN proved in Bosnia that they will not protect people they are charged with protecting. There were several UN "safe havens" that they just stood by and watched while the Serbs murdered thousands of Bosnians. If it was not for the USA and a few reluctant Europeans, the Moslems in Bosnia would have be annihilated. The UN can have the power, but the bureaucracy of politicians that run the UN are cowards.
