Rush is a hatemonger who wraps his hate in a "search for the truth" (selectively defined to suit his purposes) and then dresses it up to get national syndication. Hate makes money for him, and he is good at it. He is also one of the root causes for much of the hate in American political discourse today. He even inspired a whole new generation of bashers on the left, a few of whom sometimes stoop to his level in their bashing. Distortions, lies, vicious accusations and what used to be socially unacceptable name calling are now in vogue, even popular. But like all media, people get more and more of what they like to listen to and watch the most. It's the free market at work.
