Yes, it was very sad about the dog. It went sort of crazy with the fire and confusion of all of the people running around the yard. It was a big dog and kept biting hard at everyone who tried to rescue it. Very sad.

Beautiful poem! I just love these lines:

as the breeze deftly danced
painting from the bleak
colors of emptiness
a new dream
of vibrant hues
in the silence

And yes, whenever the day comes
that you have the time to come up for a visit,
I certainly know a few places where we
probably won't see another soul for much of the day
as we float down some river, or across some quiet bay.
